Dr. Mary Cramp is the Director for Research and Enterprise at the School of Health and Social Well-being and an Associate Professor at UWE Bristol, specializing in Long-Term Conditions. A registered physiotherapist with the HCPC, her expertise includes movement science, exercise, and neurological rehabilitation. She leads clinical services in UWE Bristol’s Human Analysis Laboratory, focusing on biomechanical gait analysis.

Her research targets motor function improvement in children with cerebral palsy, stroke rehabilitation, and gait recovery in long-term conditions. She also co-leads the EPSRC-funded FREEHAB project, which explores innovative rehabilitation technologies. As the Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health Professions Lead for NIHR Applied Research Collaboration West, Dr. Cramp is available for research development advice. She supervises postgraduate students working on neurological and musculoskeletal health challenges.

Professor Carol Clark is a Physiotherapist in the Department for Rehabilitation and Sport Sciences at Bournemouth University. Her research focuses on non-pharmacological pain management, with particular interest in supporting self-management strategies. She aims to empower individuals to improve their health through approaches like digital tools and behavioural interventions, enhancing rehabilitation and physical activity adherence.

Carol is an active member of the Dorset Integrated Care Services AHP Council and represents BU on the NIHR ARC Wessex Training Committee, promoting research and leadership in Allied Health Professions. With an MSc from UCL and over 20 years of clinical experience, she joined BU in 2005 and was promoted to Professor in 2019. Her main international collaboration is with Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai, India.

Dr. Theo Akudjedu is an Associate Professor and Director of the MSc Medical Imaging with Management Programme at Bournemouth University’s Institute of Medical Imaging and Visualization. He holds a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography from the University of Ghana, an MSc in Neuroimaging from King’s College London, and a PhD in Medicine from the University of Galway. As a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Authority (AdvanceHE), Dr. Akudjedu is committed to promoting excellence in education and student support.

His research interests focus on radiography, neuroimaging, and clinical imaging. Dr. Akudjedu encourages multidisciplinary collaboration and welcomes discussions on postgraduate supervision. With a strong emphasis on research-led teaching, he aims to inspire the next generation of healthcare practitioners and researchers, inviting inquiries from prospective PhD students both in the UK and internationally.

Dr Leslie Gelling is an Associate Professor of Adult Nursing in the Department of Nursing Science at Bournemouth University.  In addition to teaching research and evidence-informed practice, Dr Gelling’s research interests are around the role of hope in health and illness and care during palliative and end-of-life.  Dr Gelling is also Head of the Doctoral School in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences at Bournemouth University and oversees all students undertaking research degrees.

Dr Gelling is Deputy Lead of the Centre for Wellbeing and Long-Term Health (CWLTH) at Bournemouth University which is a research centre focusing on generating evidence to inform the delivery of healthcare and to empower individuals to manage long-term health conditions.  Dr Gelling is an Editor at the Journal of Clinical Nursing and is an active member of the Phi Mu Chapter of Sigma and is currently the Chapter’s President.

Dr Mwidimi Ndosi is an Associate Professor in Rheumatology Nursing at UWE Bristol, with a combination of research, teaching, and scholarship roles. His research interest is on patient-reported outcome measures, health inequities, health education, and non-pharmacological interventions to improve health outcomes for people with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.Dr Ndosi is deeply committed to educating and mentoring health professionals through taught courses, research internships, and postgraduate research supervision. He has served on several international committees and task forces to develop evidence-based recommendations for clinical practice
