Nic Manning
NIHR HCP Internship Programme Lead
Nic Manning is Deputy Director of Research Nursing at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) and part of the inaugural cohort of NIHR Senior Research Leaders.
In her current position, Nic provides strategic oversight and support to research delivery teams across UHBW, ensuring they have the skills and training to deliver high-quality research and exceptional care to participants.
As Programme Lead for the NIHR Health and Care Professions Internship Programme (South West Central), Nic is passionate about creating opportunities for health and care professionals to develop their research skills and confidence, helping to build a strong and inclusive research culture across the region.

Julie Menzies
Julie Menzies is the lead clinical academic nurse within Paediatric Intensive Care and Faculty of Nursing Education and Research (FNER), Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
With personal experience surrounding awards/fellowships from the NHS and NIHR, along with vast experience as a supervisor, mentor and supporting AHPs from internshiip to post-doctoral level.
Julie is apart of core team who led the grant for UHBW to secure the HCP Internship funding and contribute to core training, drop-in sessions, and programme evaluation.

Helen Pluess-Hall
Helen Pluess-Hall is a Clinical Academic Nurse Researcher based in the Faculty of Nursing Education and Research at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.
Helen is apart of the core team who design and deliver the programme which includes reviewing applications, facilitating training days and providing ongoing support to interns and supervisors.

Mary Cramp
Mary Cramp is Director for Research and Enterprise, in the School of Health and Social Wellbeing at UWE Bristol. She works with health and care professionals across a broad range of disciplinary areas and she has experience of leading and managing research development and training awards for health and care professionals. She currently co-leads the NIHR INSIGHT programme for the South West Central region.
Mary is a member of core team who developed the HCP Internship application and she provides support for delivering the programme.
